Quick Overview: Carbs

CARBOHYDRATES

Carbohydrates give you energy, and energy keeps you awake
and happy while you’re living your wonderful, fitness-filed life.

In the case of carbs though, you can have (A) too much of a good
thing and (B) a not-so-good kind of a good thing.

#LET’S BREAK THIS DOWN …

You have your simple carbs, and you have your complex carbs. Simple carbohydrates are things like white bread,
sugar, candy, cake, soda, etc. Complex carbohydrates are food like whole grain products, spinach, beans, and
many others.
#SIMPLE CARBOHYDRATES

Simple Carbs have very little nutritional value to the body, and therefore, it’s advisable that their consumption
be limited to small quantities. In comparison to complex carbohydrates, simple carbohydrates are digested by
the body more quickly, because they have a very simple chemical structure.
#COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATES

Complex Carbs, they take a little longer to digest, and they don’t raise the sugar levels in the blood as quickly as
simple carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates act as the body’s fuel, and they contribute significantly to
energy production.
